Welcome to Kottemann Orthodontics: All About Your First Orthodontic Visit

Everything you need to know to ensure a comfortable and efficient first visit.

A person wearing a white coat and mask examines a child in a dental office. The child wears sunglasses and lies reclined in a chair.
A person in a dark sweater holds a dental model of the lower jaw with orthodontic braces, emphasizing dental care or orthodontics.
Two people, one in a lab coat, shake hands in a bright office. There's dental equipment visible and a window showing greenery.

Preparing for your first appointment

At Kottemann Orthodontics, in Chaska, Maple Grove, Orono, and Plymouth, we believe that your first orthodontic visit is your most important one.

Here’s what you’ll do at your first free consultation.

Personalized consultation

You’ll be welcomed by our team and introduced to Dr. William Kottemann, Dr. Kraig Kottemann, Dr. Scott Kottemann, Dr. Alisha Holt, or Dr. Angela Bukstein and shown around our office.

Examination

Our highly-trained, orthodontic treatment coordinator will then take some digital photographs of your teeth. These images are the best way for us to see your teeth, jaws, and facial soft tissue.

Custom treatment plan discussion

After reviewing your records, we will discuss a unique treatment plan and show you what kind of corrections you can expect by showing photos/videos of similar cases. They will take as much time as you need to answer questions. They’ll explain everything – from scheduling to expected discomfort levels, to finances and payment options.
